+Firefighter EMT
Job description

Firefighters perform a variety of duties that support the mission of the company and the District. These duties include hazardous tasks while engaged in combating, extinguishing and preventing fire; answering emergency medical calls; extricating and rescuing individuals from fire and entrapment, treating the sick and injured; and operating and maintaining District equipment, apparatus, and quarters.

Requirements

A nationally recognized Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification. The candidate will be required to obtain an Arizona DHS certification prior to completion of the academy.

A valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Fire Authority insurance carrier. Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license prior to appointment.

A current Healthcare Provider Level CPR certificate

A valid CPAT card

A HazMat operations level certificate

Must have no felony (within 10 years) or misdemeanor (within 3 years) convictions involving moral turpitude

Basic Wildland Firefighter certification (NWCG S-130/S-190) is not required but is preferred.

+Fire Inspector I
Job description

A fire inspector I is responsible for the delivery of fire and life safety programs, safety inspections for local businesses, fire investigations, defensible space assessments, public education, and code enforcement.

Prevention positions involve considerable public contact, necessitating good communication skills. The nature of the work also requires that the person be able to exercise good judgment and a high degree of tact and diplomacy. This position requires being on-call for fire investigations after hours and on weekends in a divisional rotation.

Requirements

Fire/Arson 1-4 through International Association of Arson Investigators (must obtain with 2 years of appointment); equivalent certifications will be considered.

National Fire Academy-Fire Inspection Principles (within 2 years of appointment)

Arizona State Fire Marshal-Fire Inspector I and II (within 2 years of appointment)

Valid State of Arizona Drivers License and maintain a driving record that supports insurability with District’s insurer.

+Administrative Assistant I
Job Description
The Administrative Assistant greets visitors from the public and answers incoming calls, providing general information and/or routing callers to the appropriate staff member. As the first point of contact for the public, the Administrative Assistant must be courteous, possess basic telephone etiquette and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Under close supervision, this position performs a variety of routine clerical, reception, administrative and secretarial duties. Such duties may require the use of basic computer and software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures is also required to perform the related tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Experience in basic computer software (Microsoft Office) required.

Experience in a government office environment recommended.

One year of clerical or secretarial experience preferred.

+Finance Specialist I
Job Description

A Finance Specialist is responsible for a wide range of duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processing.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Four years of administrative or financial experience with college level course work or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Knowledge of general office practices, including typing, filing and the appropriate use of office equipment.

Effective oral and written communication skills, in addition to time management skills.

Ability to utilize modern computer systems and programs, including Word and Excel.

+Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description

Facilities maintenance technician performs a variety of building maintenance tasks.
Tasks will include repair and preventative work. Performs other related work as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Familiar with a variety of construction concepts, practices, and procedures.

Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools as well as larger pieces of machinery.

Basic computer skills that include ability to operate Excel, Word, and inventory billing software.

+Fire Mechanic I
Job Description

Fire Mechanics are responsible for performing maintenance and repair on both light and heavy-duty vehicles as well as firefighting equipment including small motors of the fire district. Design and outfitting of new custom vehicles is also performed in our fleet maintenance division as well as fabrication.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Graduation from a technical school/college specializing in automotive and or diesel repair or three years’ experience in automotive repair, light and or heavy duty.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certificate preferred.

Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certificate preferred.

+Warehouse Technician
Job Description

The Warehouse technician’s primary function is to ensure all divisions have the necessary supplies and equipment needed to fulfil their job duties, giving the best possible level of customer service. Daily duties may include operating a forklift, shipping and receiving of materials, unloading and reloading trucks, vehicle checks, washing and inspecting PPE, storage and handling of inventories, janitorial duties, as well as other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

Obtain OSHA compliant forklift certification within two months.

Familiar with a variety of the warehouse field concepts, practices, and procedures.

1-2 years’ experience in the field or in a related area preferred.

Skill in inventory control, OSHA standards of safety, forklift operation, and training.

Basic computer skills such as Excel, Word, and Access are required for records and planning.
